My Footprint Introduction
Description: This activity required me to draw an outline of my footprint on a sheet of construction paper and sketch a footprint idea page to show my individual interests, life, and a way to introduce yourself to others. The footprint had me use at least 3 different mediums to use for designs on the project; I used mediums like different colored construction paper, crayons, markers, colored pencils, and even a 3D print! My symbols represented my interests and hobbies such as my favorite sports and sports teams and a television to show my large interest in television shows and movies. Also included was my high school's logo and the Northern State logo to show my schooling, a graduation cap to represent my success in education, the word family to show those who support me, and a 123-ABC chart to signify my future as an elementary and special education teacher.
Extension Activity: For an extension activity, I would select partners for the students and have them trace one another's feet. Additionally, students would write their name on their own footprint and select at least three random facts about themselves to put on the footprint. I would then have the students give the footprints to me, I will read off the facts, and the students will then try to guess who the student is based on their footprint. Doing this will allow the students to be engaged and learn about one another while also playing a fun guessing game. After completion of the game, I will then have the students hang them up on the bulletin board outside of the classroom.
